Thanks! The diagnostic report wasn't very detailed, just a lateral acceleration sensor fault. They didn't specify which control unit or provide a part number. Was your issue definitely the lateral sensor then? What was involved in resolving it?

Yes, it sounds like the same problem I had. The sensor itself wasn't too expensive, but the labor in accessing and replacing it was the killer. Unless you're very comfortable working on car electronics, I'd advise taking it to a trusted workshop. They'll be able to pinpoint the exact cause and ensure everything is properly calibrated afterward. It's not worth risking your safety or potentially damaging other components trying to DIY this one.

Thanks so much for sharing your experience! It's helpful to know someone else has encountered the same problem. Your advice is appreciated, and I will seek professional help. I got a quote for 1000€ which seems reasonable. Hopefully, it will resolve the ABS issues. Thanks again!

I had a similar issue with my 208 a few years back. ABS light kept coming on and the system felt like it was cutting out at odd times. The garage mentioned a faulty lateral sensor too. Did they give you any indication of which control unit might be defective, or the part number of the sensor?
