Peugeot 208 Air Suspension Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Peugeot 208 is experiencing air suspension issues, including failure to lift, leaning to one side, and error messages. The problem is likely due to a faulty air suspension compressor or its connections. Suggested solutions include checking the cable and plug connections to the compressor, using a multimeter to test for voltage, and inspecting the ground connection for corrosion. The issue was resolved by repairing a defective cable or plug connection to the compressor.

Thanks for the quick response. I did check the connections visually, but is there a specific way to test them to confirm they're the issue?

Visually checking is a good first step, but you need to go further. Think of it like checking the wiring on a lamp that won't turn on. You wouldn't just look at the plug, right? You'd test it with a multimeter to see if current is actually flowing. Similarly, with the car, use a multimeter to check for voltage at the compressor plug when the system is trying to activate. Also, check the ground connection for corrosion. If you're not comfortable with electrical testing, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop, as there could be more complex reasons.

Appreciate the detailed advice! Took it to a workshop, and it turned out to be a defective cable or plug connection to the compressor, just as you suspected. Repair cost me 95€. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!

Sounds like a classic air suspension compressor issue. The leaning and ride height problems are dead giveaways. The error message and headlight issue are logical consequences of the system failing to maintain the correct pressure and vehicle level. Have you checked the cable and plug connection to the compressor? It's often the simplest thing to overlook, like a loose wire causing a major appliance to fail.
