Where exactly is the transmission sensor located, and is it easy to get to? And what do you mean by 'shift lock working properly'? I'm not really a mechanic.

The sensor is usually on the transmission itself, but it's hard to get to without a lift. By shift lock, I mean can you move the gear lever out of park without pressing the brake pedal? If you can, the shift lock mechanism is probably broken. It sounds like the control unit is the issue, and you are best off taking it to a workshop.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a shop, and you were right. It was the transmission control unit. Cost 1000€ to replace, but at least it's fixed. Appreciate the help!

I had something similar with my 208. Check the transmission sensor. Is the shift lock working properly? It could be a faulty sensor or a wiring issue. Does the error memory mention anything specific?
