Peugeot 208 engine stalling

Hi, I'm having a weird issue with my 2022 Peugeot 208, gasoline engine. The check engine light comes on, and the engine sometimes stalls when I'm idling. I've also got an error stored in the error memory. Could it be the IAC valve? I heard that a contaminated intake could be the reason. Any ideas?

Hey, I had similar symptoms with my 208! When the idle air control (IAC) valve goes bad, the engine can't properly regulate the amount of air entering the engine at idle. Have you checked your throttle body for contamination and buildup? That gunk can mess with the valve's operation.

Throttle body, got it! Where exactly is that located, and is it something I could clean myself, or does it require special tools/knowledge? I don't want to mess anything up even more!

It's usually located near the air intake manifold. While cleaning it yourself is possible, it can be tricky if you've never done it before. You'll need to disconnect some stuff and use a special cleaner. Given your symptoms, I'd probably get it checked by a workshop to be safe, they can diagnose it properly. Ended up costing me 425€ because the intake was heavily contaminated.

Thanks for the advice! I'll take it to a workshop. Turns out you were spot on: the IAC valve was faulty due to a heavily contaminated intake. Replacing it and cleaning the intake did the trick. Price was indeed around 425€!
