Peugeot 208 engine stalling
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Peugeot 208 with a gasoline engine is experiencing stalling issues and a check engine light when idling. The problem may be linked to a faulty idle air control (IAC) valve, potentially caused by a contaminated throttle body. Cleaning the throttle body and replacing the IAC valve resolved the issue, with the repair costing approximately 425€.

Throttle body, got it! Where exactly is that located, and is it something I could clean myself, or does it require special tools/knowledge? I don't want to mess anything up even more!

It's usually located near the air intake manifold. While cleaning it yourself is possible, it can be tricky if you've never done it before. You'll need to disconnect some stuff and use a special cleaner. Given your symptoms, I'd probably get it checked by a workshop to be safe, they can diagnose it properly. Ended up costing me 425€ because the intake was heavily contaminated.

Thanks for the advice! I'll take it to a workshop. Turns out you were spot on: the IAC valve was faulty due to a heavily contaminated intake. Replacing it and cleaning the intake did the trick. Price was indeed around 425€!

Hey, I had similar symptoms with my 208! When the idle air control (IAC) valve goes bad, the engine can't properly regulate the amount of air entering the engine at idle. Have you checked your throttle body for contamination and buildup? That gunk can mess with the valve's operation.
