Peugeot 208 Low Brake Fluid

Hey, a bit worried. My 2023 Peugeot 208 diesel is showing a low brake fluid warning after 189819 km. I've also noticed some strange feedback from the brake pedal. Anyone else had this? I've topped up the fluid, but it keeps dropping. I'm stressed!

I had something similar with my 208. Check your brake pads, they might be worn. When were they last changed?

Brake pads? Hmmm, hadn't thought of that. I'm no expert on brake system bits, to be honest. How would worn brake pads cause the brake fluid level to drop though?

Yep, worn pads. As the pads wear down, the pistons in the calipers have to extend further to maintain contact with the rotors. This takes up more space in the system, causing the fluid level in the reservoir to drop. Have your local workshop take a look at them. Don't take any chances!

Thanks a million for the advice! Took it to the workshop and you were spot on. Worn brakes were the culprit. Ended up costing me 480€ for new pads and fluid replacement. Crisis averted!
