Yeah, I checked the wiring as best I could, didn't see anything obvious. Did you have the same symptoms, like the increased fuel consumption? Was it definitely the O2 sensor? I'm trying to avoid replacing the catalytic converter if I can!

Yep, increased fuel consumption was a big clue for me too. Honestly, with those symptoms and the error code, it really does sound like the O2 sensor. I ended up getting mine replaced. If you're not 100% sure, maybe get it checked at a workshop. They can test the sensor properly.

Thanks! I appreciate the insight. Took your advice and brought it to a local shop. Turns out the O2 sensor cable was indeed defective, just like you guessed. New sensor and cable, cost me 95€, and the car's running smooth again. Fuel efficiency is back to normal, and the check engine light is gone! Cheers!

Hey, I had something similar happen on my Peugeot 208. Check engine light, the whole shebang. I'd bet good money it's the O2 sensor. Have you had a look at the wiring to the sensor? Could be corroded or loose.
