Peugeot 3008 control unit communication error

I have a 2022 Peugeot 3008 with a gasoline engine. Mileage is at 248134 km. I'm encountering a control unit communication error. Symptoms include engine overheating, check engine light activation, and coolant spills under the vehicle due to excessive cooling system pressure. Suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Any ideas?

Sounds rough. I had similar issues with my old Volvo V70 – though the symptoms were slightly different. Check engine light and weird temperature readings were the giveaways for me. Have you checked the diagnostic trouble codes? Might point you in the right direction.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I did check the diagnostic trouble codes. It points to a generic 'control unit communication error'. Could it still be a simple wiring issue with such a vague code?

With my Volvo, the vague code led to a corroded connector on the ECU. So yeah, a wiring issue is still very possible, especially given the other symptoms you described. But honestly, I'd suggest getting it properly diagnosed at a workshop. Could save you a lot of time and headache.
