Peugeot 3008 DPF Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Peugeot 3008 diesel with 256,000 km is experiencing reduced engine power and excessive smoke during acceleration, indicating a potential diesel particulate filter (DPF) issue. The symptoms suggest the DPF might be clogged, causing backpressure. The conversation explores whether to clean or replace the DPF, with a suggestion to check for sensor faults, particularly the DPF pressure sensor. Ultimately, the DPF was found to be defective and required replacement.

Thanks for the input! By sensor faults, do you mean like the DPF pressure sensor? Where is that normally located, and is it something I could check myself, or should I just take it to a shop?

Yep, exactly. It's usually somewhere around the DPF itself. Honestly, if you're not super comfortable with car diagnostics, it's probably best to get it checked by a workshop. Could be a sensor, could be the DPF is genuinely clogged.

Appreciate the advice. I took it to a shop, and it turns out the DPF was indeed defective and needed replacing. Cost me around 1550€, ouch! Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.

Sounds familiar. I had similar issues with my old Volvo a while back. Reduced power and smoke usually point to a problem with the diesel filter. Have you checked for any sensor faults that might be triggering the issue?
