Peugeot 3008 Hybrid Transmission Problems

I'm having trouble with my 2019 Peugeot 3008 Hybrid (24070 km). The transmission control unit seems faulty. The paddle shifters don't work, the gearbox slips and shifts roughly, and I hear grinding noises during gear changes. The paddle shifters are slow to respond, and the gearbox sometimes goes into emergency mode. An error code is always stored. Could it be the control module?

That sounds rough. I had similar transmission problems with my 2016 Volvo XC60, but without the hybrid part. Shifting problems, emergency mode... the works! It turned out to be a faulty TCM – that's the Transmission Control Module. Did you try resetting the error memory? Sometimes that works.

Thanks. I already reset the error memory, but it didn't work. The error returns immediately. Was the behaviour identical, especially the paddle shifters and gear slippage?

Yep, that's a classic sign that the TCM is having issues. Paddles stopped responding, and the shifts felt super rough – almost like the transmission was fighting itself. Since you've already tried resetting the codes and it's still acting up, I’d seriously consider going to a workshop. They can properly diagnose the control unit and see if it needs replacing or reprogramming.

I appreciate the advice. I suspected a control unit issue, and your experience reinforces that. I visited the workshop, and you were right. The defective transmission control unit was replaced. The final bill was 1000€. Everything works now. Thanks again!
