Interesting! So, with your Volvo, was it definitely the MAP sensor causing the vacuum leak, or was it something else that triggered the sensor to go bad? Did replacing the sensor solve all the issues, or did you have to chase down other problems too?

In my case, the sensor itself had failed, which then caused the vacuum leak because it wasn't reading properly. Replacing the MAP sensor fixed everything instantly! I would still advise getting it checked by a workshop. It cost me 180€ back then, but prices might have changed in the meantime.

Thanks a lot! Sounds like I'm on the right track then. I took it to the workshop and it was indeed the MAP sensor and a large vacuum leakage. 235€ later and it's running like new again! Appreciate the help!

Sounds frustrating! I had almost the exact same symptoms with my old Volvo V70 – check engine light, power loss, the whole shebang. Turned out to be a faulty manifold sensor as well. The mechanic said the vacuum leak was throwing everything off, like trying to run a marathon with a blocked nose. What kind of mileage are you seeing?
