Peugeot 3008 Oil Sensor Issue

My 2016 Peugeot 3008 gasoline, with 279907 km, shows 'oil level sensor/oil level sensor signal faulty' on the speedometer. The oil pressure warning lamp illuminates intermittently, and the error is stored. I suspect a defective cable or plug. Any ideas before I investigate?

That sounds frustrating! I had a similar experience with my 3008, though not exactly the same. My issue also involved oil warnings, but it was more erratic. Did you check the sensor itself for any physical damage or corrosion? These sensors can be quite sensitive.

Thanks. The sensor appears intact, but I haven't tested it internally. Did your error specifically point to the oil level sensor, or was it a general oil pressure warning? Did you resolve it yourself, or get professional help?

The error was related to the oil pressure. I tried cleaning the contacts and checking the wiring, but the problem persisted. I took it to a workshop, and they diagnosed a faulty sensor. It might be best to consult a mechanic. It could be the same issue.

Understood, I appreciate the advice. Given your experience, I'll likely take it to a workshop for a diagnosis. The estimated repair cost is around 95€, which seems reasonable. Thanks again for sharing your insights!
