Peugeot 3008 preheating lamp and check engine light

I'm having some issues with my 2016 Peugeot 3008 diesel. The preheating lamp won't switch off, and the check engine light is also on. Plus, there's some smoke when I accelerate. The car has 163929 km on it. Could it be the glow plugs? Anyone experienced something similar?

I had a similar problem with my old Opel Astra, although it was a petrol engine. The engine light was on, and sometimes it felt like a misfire. Have you checked the cable or plug connection of the glow control unit? That was the culprit for me.

Interesting! Where exactly is that glow control unit located? And how do I check the cable or plug connection? I'm not super tech-savvy, so any guidance would be appreciated!

On my Astra, it was near the engine block, but I am not sure where it is located on your Peugeot. Honestly, if you are not familiar with the components, I would take it to a workshop. I ended up doing that myself and it was definitely worth it. Better safe than sorry, right?

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the workshop, and you were right – it was the cable connection to the glow control unit. They fixed it for 95€. Appreciate the help!
