When you say 'main relay', is that the one directly supplying power to the ECU, or is there another one? Did your BMW have any other symptoms besides the reduced power?

Yes, the main relay that directly feeds the ECU. My BMW didn't show any other symptoms, just the power loss and the error codes. I had to get it checked out by a workshop, and they confirmed the relay issue.

The defective main relay was the problem, causing the ECU malfunction. A replacement and system reset, costing 120€, fixed it. Your suggestion saved me from costly ECU repair. Thanks!

I had a similar issue with my old BMW 5 series. Reduced power and ECU errors. Turned out to be a faulty main relay causing intermittent power supply to the ECU. Check the relay and its connections before you consider more drastic measures.
