Peugeot 3008 Transport Mode Issue

I recently purchased a used 2016 Peugeot 3008 with a diesel engine, and it's displaying a message that it's in "transport mode." This is causing electrical malfunctions and the navigation system doesn't work. Mileage is 109034 km. Has anyone experienced this or have ideas on how to exit transport mode? I've tried disconnecting the battery, but no luck.

I know this can be a pain. I have a Peugeot 3008 myself. I had something similar happen after the battery died. “Transport mode” is triggered to preserve battery life while it’s being shipped from the manufacturer, so non-essential electrical systems get shut down. The car configuration can be off. The good news is it should be a simple fix, but you likely can't do it yourself. It almost certainly involves hooking the car up to a diagnostic computer and using the manufacturer's software to reset the car's settings and clear the transport mode. Consider that the car electronics might be faulty. Did this happen right after you got the car, or did it develop over time?

Thanks for the reply! That's reassuring. This was happening right after I got the car. The dealer said they'd "look into it," but I'm not holding my breath. When you say "diagnostic computer and manufacturer's software," does that mean a regular mechanic won't be able to do it? Is this a Peugeot dealership-only thing? Also, can it be related to starting the engine?

Okay, if it was happening right after you got the car, that reinforces the idea that the dealer simply didn't properly prepare the car for sale. Yes, unfortunately, it likely means that a regular mechanic won't have the specific software and access to the car's computer system to reset the transport mode. It's a vehicle setting that needs to be adjusted. You'll need to take it to a Peugeot dealership or a trusted mechanic who specializes in Peugeot/Citroen vehicles. They'll have the appropriate tools and software, and they will perform a software update if required. Tell them you suspect the car is stuck in transport mode and needs to be reset. They'll know exactly what to do.

I followed your advice and took the car to a Peugeot dealership. You were absolutely right! They hooked it up to their computer, reset the system, and cleared the transport mode in about 15 minutes. Everything is working perfectly now. The repair cost was 0€ Thank you so much for your help!
