I haven't checked those yet. Where exactly is the blower motor resistor located in the Peugeot 301?

Unfortunately, blower motor resistor location varies quite a bit. Given the symptoms and the troubleshooting you've mentioned regarding the electrical connections, there might be multiple points of failure. I’d suggest consulting a workshop. It will save you a lot of time.

Thanks for the advice. Took it to a local workshop. Turned out to be a defective connector. Repair cost 95€.

That does sound like a frustrating issue. Have you checked the blower motor resistor and its wiring harness? Many electrical climate control problems can be traced back to faults within the wiring itself or the connector plugs. Electronic faults are notoriously difficult. Does the blower motor work at all, or is it completely dead?
