Peugeot 301 Error Code Incorrect Coding

I own a Peugeot 301, build year 2012, gasoline engine, mileage 16960 km. An error code has been detected and stored. I get an error message in the infotainment system and speedometer. Could incorrect vehicle coding be the cause?

301, huh? Sounds familiar. You wouldn't believe the headache I had with mine...similar symptoms - Christmas tree of warning lights, right? Did you try a simple OBD-II scan and reset? Might be worth a shot before diving into the coding rabbit hole. Have you had any work done on it recently, especially involving the control module?

Thank you for your reply. I have not performed a scan myself. Are you suggesting the error might clear with a simple reset, despite the potential coding issue?

Well, might. Look, I'm no wizard, but sometimes these things are glitchy. My 301 threw a fit after a simple battery change. Ultimately, the incorrect coding diagnosis was spot-on, and a shop had to sort it. So, can you rule out the simple stuff before getting the big guns out? If the warning lights reappear immediately after a reset, save yourself the aggravation and visit a workshop.

I appreciate your help. It seems a visit to the workshop is unavoidable. Indeed the coding of the car was incorrect. Repair costs amounted to 360€.
