Thanks for the reply. I appreciate the actuator suggestion, but I'm not sure how to get to it or what a defect would look like. Could you give me more specific guidance on how to inspect it, or what readings I should expect if it's working?

Accessing it can be a pain. Honestly, without the right tools and some experience, you might make things worse. Since your AC is completely shot and you're getting error codes, it might be best to take it to a shop. They can find the exact cause, whether it's the actuator, wiring, or something else. Sometimes it's cheaper than trying to DIY a complex HVAC repair. It cost me 95€ to fix, parts and labor included.

Thanks for the advice. Given the complexity, I'm taking the Peugeot to a workshop for diagnosis and repair. I'll post what they find. Thanks again for your help.

Hey! That sounds frustrating. I had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra, but it was the front vent flaps. Same symptoms though – error codes, climate control going haywire, and AC that was useless. Did you check the flap actuator? It's a common problem.
