Cheers for the reply! Fluid level seems fine. It slips in all gears, but it's most noticeable when it's cold. I'm pretty sure it's electronic, since the error codes point towards the control unit, but I'm wondering if you had the exact same experience before condemning the TCU?

Based on your description and the error codes, it does sound like a defective control unit is the likely culprit, as it was in my case. Given the cost of a new control unit and the complexity of the system, I'd strongly suggest taking it to a reputable workshop that specializes in automatic transmissions, instead of condemning it straight away. They should be able to properly diagnose the issue and confirm whether a replacement is truly necessary.

Thanks a bunch for confirming! I suspected as much. Dropped it off at a shop specializing in automatic transmissions this morning. They ran diagnostics and, bingo, cooked control unit. Quoted 1000€ for the repair (parts + labor), but at least I know what's what. Appreciate the insight!

I've experienced similar issues with my Peugeot 307. The symptoms you describe, particularly the starting problem and the check engine light, are concerning. When you say the gearbox slips, does it happen in all gears, or just when shifting into drive? Also, have you tried checking the transmission fluid level and condition?
