Peugeot 307 belt handover failure

I'm at 44611 km. No squealing, just the belt handover failing. How much did that idler pulley set you back? Was it a big job?

Ah, could still be related! Though mine was squealing like mad. If the belt handover isn't working, the timing belt could jump, and that's BAD. Given your mileage and the belt handover issue, I'd seriously consider getting it checked by a workshop. Better safe than sorry, right?

Thanks a bunch! You're right, better safe than sorry. Took it to a shop, and you nailed it – the belt tensioner was bad. Cost me 455€ to sort, but at least it's fixed!

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my 307. What's the mileage on yours? Mine turned out to be the idler pulley, throwing off the whole belt drive. Was making a terrible squeal, too. Is yours making any noise?
