Peugeot 307 Overheating and Coolant Leak
Summary of the thread
A 2004 Peugeot 307 was experiencing engine overheating, a check engine light, and a coolant leak, possibly due to excessive pressure in the cooling system. The owner suspected a control unit communication error. A suggestion was made to check for error codes and inspect the ECU connection. The issue was resolved at a workshop, where a defective cable connector was identified and repaired.

Thanks for the suggestion! I haven't checked the error codes yet, but where exactly should I be looking for the ECU connection? Is it easy to access?

Well, I am not sure about the exact location in your Peugeot 307, but if it gives you headache, I would recommend taking it to a workshop. Overheating can be nasty, and you don't want to risk more damage.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. I took it to a shop, and it turned out a cable connector was defective. They fixed it for 95€. Everything seems to be working fine now.

That sounds rough. Could be a data link issue. Did you check the error codes already? I remember a similar problem with my old Citroen, the connection to the ECU was loose. I hope it's a simple fix for you too.
