Peugeot 307 Parking Aid Failure

Hi, I'm having an issue with my 2005 Peugeot 307 (gasoline engine). The parking aid system seems dead. I get a warning light, and the system doesn't beep when reversing. I plugged it into a generic code reader and it showed an error, but nothing specific. I've checked the rear sensors visually, and they seem clean. Any ideas?

Summary of the thread

The issue with the 2005 Peugeot 307 involves a non-functional parking aid system, indicated by a warning light and lack of beeping when reversing. The problem might be due to a defective cable or plug connection, as suggested by another person who experienced a similar issue. The recommended solution is to have the vehicle checked by a professional, which ultimately revealed a loose connection that was repaired, resolving the problem.

Hey, I had a similar problem with my 307. Is it possible a cable or plug connection is defective? I would check there first. Were there any specific error codes, or just a generic parking aid fault message?

Thanks for the quick reply! It was just a generic parking aid fault message, unfortunately. I suspected it might be a connection issue. Where exactly should I be looking for these cable connections? Are they easily accessible, or do I need to remove the bumper?

Okay, just checking about the error codes. When it happened to me, I couldn't find the issue myself and went straight to the workshop. In my case, all parking sensors weren't working and the error was stored, and they told me that cable or plug connection was defective. If you can't find anything obvious, I'd recommend getting it checked by a professional. It might save you time and hassle.

Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it! I think you're right, I'm probably out of my depth. I'll book it in with a local garage and see what they say. The problem was exactly what you said, a loose connection! The repair cost me 95€, and now it works like a charm!
