Peugeot 308 Fuel Flap Issue

I'm having trouble with the fuel flap release on my 2023 Peugeot 308 gasoline. With 248392 km, neither the central locking nor the button inside opens it. Diagnostics show an error, and the car says locking/unlocking isn't possible with some functions unavailable. I suspect a defective linkage or lock actuator. Any ideas before I investigate?

I had a similar issue with my 2018 Volvo V60. I remember being stuck at the gas station! It turned out to be a faulty solenoid. It's an electromechanical valve that pulls a pin when you press the release. Do you hear any clicking when you try the release, either with the button or the key fob? And have you checked the fuses?

Thanks. I appreciate you mentioning the solenoid. I don't hear any clicking. Which fuse(s) might be relevant? The owner's manual isn't clear about the fuel flap release.

Okay, no clicking definitely points to something electrical. I wish I could tell you the exact fuse number, but it differs from car to car. In my Volvo, the fuse diagram was in the glove compartment. Look for anything related to 'central locking', 'convenience features' or sometimes even 'rear electricals'. Since you have errors stored, I would recommend taking your Peugeot to a workshop rather than tinkering with it. Faulty electrics can be tricky, and you don't want to make things worse!

Thanks for the advice. A workshop visit was indeed warranted. They confirmed a defective actuator, attributable to the linkage. The repair, including replacing the component, cost 210€.
