Peugeot 308 Overheating Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Peugeot 308 diesel was experiencing engine overheating and a check engine light, suspected to be due to a non-functioning radiator fan. The issue was identified as a faulty speed sensor, which prevented the fan from engaging. Replacing the speed sensor resolved the overheating problem.

Yeah, that's right. It just doesn't seem to spin. I read that it could be the speed sensor. What was the cause in your case?

Same deal, it was the speed sensor - without it sending the right signals, the fan won't engage. A bit of a headache. I would definitely recommend taking it to a workshop.

Thanks for the advice! It was indeed the speed sensor. Replaced it for 250€ and now the cooling system is working fine. Appreciate the help.

I had similar overheating issues with my 308. Is the fan not kicking in at all, even when the engine's hot?
