Peugeot 308 Rich Running Symptoms

I have a 2009 Peugeot 308 diesel. The engine seems to be running rich, with reduced power, check engine light, rough running, higher fuel consumption, and jerking during acceleration. Could it be a defective injection valve or injector? How can I test this?

A rich mixture sounds likely. Have you checked the air filter? A clogged filter could restrict airflow. Also, has the oxygen sensor been tested recently? A faulty O2 sensor can send incorrect data to the engine control unit. What's the mileage?

The mileage is 145801 km. The air filter is easy to check, but how would you recommend testing the oxygen sensor?

Given the mileage, a faulty injector is a strong possibility. You can test the O2 sensor with a multimeter, but interpreting the results can be tricky. It's probably best to take it to a workshop for a proper diagnosis. It could save time and misdiagnosis.

I took it to a workshop as suggested. They confirmed a defective fuel injector. After replacement, the symptoms are gone. The repair cost 515€.
