Peugeot 4007 AC control unit failure

My 2007 Peugeot 4007 diesel is giving me headaches. The AC isn't cooling, I've got an error stored, the system won't switch on, and the speedometer's warning light is on. I'm suspecting the AC control unit. Has anyone dealt with this?

Summary of the thread

A 2007 Peugeot 4007 diesel is experiencing issues with the AC not cooling, an error code, and a warning light on the speedometer. The suspected cause is a failure in the AC control unit. A similar case confirmed the control unit as the problem, with a repair cost of approximately 980€. The recommended solution is to have the vehicle checked by a professional mechanic to confirm and address the issue.

Sounds familiar! I had similar AC unit issues with my 4007. Is the refrigerant compressor kicking in at all, or completely dead? Check for any refrigerant leak.

Good shout! How did you diagnose it? What did you do when your AC compressor failed, and did you end up with a massive bill?

Yeah, compressor completely gone. I tried topping up the refrigerant, but no dice. In the end, a garage confirmed the control unit was toast. Cost me almost a grand, 980€. Best get it checked at a workshop.

Thanks for the heads-up! Took it to a local mechanic, and you were spot on - the AC control unit was the culprit. Repair cost also hit around 980€. Cheers!
