Peugeot 4008 power window failure

I've got a 2014 Peugeot 4008 with a gasoline engine, and my power windows are completely dead. None of them work, front or back. I scanned it and there's an error stored related to the window regulators. I'm betting it's just the power window switch, but has anyone else run into this? Before I start tearing apart the door panel, any thoughts on what I should check first?

It is possible that the power window switch is defective. However, before replacing any components, I advise you to inspect the wiring harness that connects to the window regulator motor. Confirm there is voltage present when the switch is activated. Also, examine the condition of the window track to ensure there is no excessive friction or obstruction, as this can overload the regulator motor and potentially trigger a fault.

Okay, thanks! Where exactly should I be checking the voltage? Right at the regulator motor connector after I remove the door panel? And how would I tell if the window track is causing too much friction? Should it move super easily by hand?

Yes, measure the voltage directly at the connector for the window regulator motor with the door panel removed. A normal reading should be approximately 12V when the switch is engaged. To assess the window track, manually move the window up and down. Note any points where the movement feels stiff or requires excessive force. The window should move with minimal resistance. If significant friction is present, lubrication may be necessary, but addressing the root cause of the friction is imperative before replacing any electrical components. It might be best to have the problem diagnosed at a certified workshop.

Thanks for the help! Turns out it was indeed the power window switch, like I initially suspected. Replaced it and now all the windows are working again. Cost me about 200€ for the part. Appreciate the advice about checking the wiring and track, though. Definitely good to rule those out first!
