Affirmative, it was indeed the clutch pedal switch, a faulty switch. I replaced it directly. It's best to take it to the workshop. The mechanic will know!

Thanks for confirming. I appreciate your help. I took it to the shop and it was indeed the clutch pedal switch. The repair cost 95€.

Hey! I also drive a Peugeot 406. I had similar symptoms. Was the electrical fault related to a safety mechanism that cuts the engine if the clutch isn't fully depressed? Is it only the clutch pedal?
