Peugeot 407 ABS Light Issue

Hi, I'm having an issue with my 2005 Peugeot 407 diesel. The ABS light keeps coming on, and the ABS system seems to be failing intermittently. I've run a diagnostic scan, and it's showing a fault with the lateral acceleration sensor. Has anyone else experienced this? Mileage is at 295458 km. Any ideas on where to start?

I had a similar issue with my 407. The ABS light and stability control system were going crazy. Faulty lateral sensor, most likely. Do you experience anything when you're cornering?

Thanks for the reply! Yes, it seems worse when cornering, especially at higher speeds. Does that point even more to the lateral sensor? What was the solution for yours?

Yep, sounds identical. Unfortunately, the affected control unit was defective in my case. I had to go to the workshop to have it repaired. I'm afraid it might be the same for you. Don't risk driving too much like that. It's unsafe, a real safety warning.

Thanks for the info. I was hoping it was something simpler, but I guess I'll take it to a workshop. They quoted around 1000€ for the repair, which seems steep. At least now I know what to expect. Thanks again!
