Peugeot 407 AC failure

Hi, my 2008 Peugeot 407 diesel is giving me grief. The AC has completely stopped working. I'm getting an error stored in the error memory, and the AC system refuses to switch on. The 'service' warning light is now illuminated. I'm suspecting the refrigerant compressor, but I haven't spotted any obvious refrigerant leak. Anyone had a similar issue?

Sounds awfully familiar. I've got a 407 too, and I had a similar problem last summer. The air con just packed it in, and I had some warnings light up too. Did you check the AC compressor relay and fuses?

They should be in the engine compartment fuse box, but honestly, it sounds like what I had. For me, it turned out to be the AC control unit itself being defective. Apparently, it's a common issue. Eventually, the workshop quoted around 980€ to fix it. Not cheap, I know! So, it is worth checking the simple things first, but you may need to brace yourself.

Okay, thanks for the heads-up. I'll check the fuses, but I'll prepare myself for a trip to the workshop. Looks like the AC control unit is the likely culprit here. Cheers!
