Peugeot 407 cruise control failure

I'm having a perplexing issue with my 2007 Peugeot 407 (gasoline engine). The cruise control has suddenly stopped working. The dashboard doesn't show any immediate warnings, but my code reader shows an error stored in memory related to the cruise control system. I've checked the fuses, the ones I could easily locate in the fuse box diagram, but everything seems fine there. Could it be a faulty pedal switch or the clock spring?

I had a similar problem with my Peugeot 407 not that long ago. Check the cable or plug connection of the component. Is the error message related to the switch on the steering wheel?

When you say 'switch on the steering wheel', are you referring to the cruise control stalk itself? I was sort of suspecting the stalk, but didn't want to start tearing things apart without a better idea. Do you recall if your error code was specific, or more general, like mine?

Yes, I mean the cruise control stalk. I don't remember the exact code. I think you should go to a workshop, the most likely cause is defective cable or plug connection of the component. I paid 95€ for the fix.
