Peugeot 407 Engine Mount Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Peugeot 407 is experiencing issues with a potentially defective engine mount, leading to uneven idling and error messages. The problem might be related to the cable or plug connection, but visible wear on the mount is not apparent. It is suggested to have the mount checked by a mechanic, as similar issues have been resolved by replacing the mount, preventing further damage.

Thanks. The mount doesn't show obvious wear, but there's some play when I move the engine by hand. The idling does fluctuate, more when the engine is cold. Do you remember any specific error codes you were seeing?

My experience is the same; visible wear wasn't obvious right away. The error code was about engine mount performance, I think. With the fluctuating idle and play, I'd get it checked at a workshop. I replaced mine – cost about 95€. Better safe than sorry, especially if the mount fails.

Thanks, I'll book an appointment with my mechanic to check it. Your experience confirms what I thought, and I don't want to risk more damage. Thanks again!

I had a similar issue with my 407. The error code pointed to the mount, but the problem was intermittent at first. Did you check the mount for wear or damage? Sometimes it's obvious, sometimes not. Is the uneven idling constant, or does it fluctuate?
