Peugeot 407 Height Control Issue

My 2009 Peugeot 407 with a gasoline engine is throwing me for a loop. The 'height control restricted' warning light is on. My low beams are shining too low or too high. The car feels uneven between the front and back axles, and the ride is bumpy. The diagnostic tool shows error codes related to height adjustment. Could a defective control rod on the sensor be the problem?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my 407. Is the ride height noticeably different on one side compared to the other? Have you checked the leveling sensor connections for corrosion or damage?

Ride height difference? I'll have to take a closer look. I was so focused on the lights and the warning that I didn't really think about that. Corrosion... Where exactly are these leveling sensors located? And what am I looking for?

Yes, check if one side is lower than the other. The sensors are usually located near the suspension components. Look for anything out of the ordinary – broken wires, loose connections, or physical damage to the sensor itself. But honestly, based on your description and the error codes, it really does sound like a faulty sensor or the control rod. I'd suggest getting it checked out by a workshop; they'll have the proper tools to diagnose it correctly.

I appreciate you confirming my suspicions and pointing me in the right direction. The control rod on the leveling sensor was indeed the culprit. 110€ later, and the Peugeot's riding smooth and level again. No more disco headlights!
