Peugeot 407 Overheating Air Flap Issue

Help! My 2008 Peugeot 407 (gasoline engine) is acting up. The check engine light is on, and it's overheating like crazy! Mileage is 48644 km. Could this be related to the active air flap? I did a quick scan, and it pointed to that. I have no idea what to do next...

A 2008 Peugeot 407 is experiencing overheating issues and a check engine light, potentially linked to a malfunctioning active air flap. A diagnostic scan indicated the air flap might be stuck. The problem was confirmed to be a defective electromechanism on the air flap, which was resolved by a mechanic, restoring the vehicle's proper function.

I had a similar problem with my 407. The overheating and check engine light combo sounds familiar. What error code did the scan give you? Is it running rough at all?

The error code was something about the active air flap being stuck. Runs fine, just gets too hot! What was the final fix on yours?

Yup, that's exactly what happened to mine. Turned out to be a defective electromechanism on the air flap. The garage confirmed it pretty quickly. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop; they'll be able to diagnose it properly and tell you for sure.

Thanks a bunch! I took it to a mechanic, and you were spot on. Defective electromechanism on the air flap. Cost me 590€ to get it fixed, but at least it's running cool now!
