Peugeot 407 Wiper Failure

Hi, I'm having trouble with the wipers on my 2010 Peugeot 407 diesel. The wipers just stopped working altogether. The error memory stores an error, and I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Before I start tearing everything apart, has anyone else experienced this? I checked the wiper blades and they are fine, so I think the problem lies deeper within the wiper motor or switch.

Oh, I know this one! I have a Peugeot 407 as well, and had something similar happen a while back. It was so bizarre - like the car had a mind of its own! Is your cruise control acting up, too? On mine, the wiper switch issue was somehow connected to that. It felt like one gremlin was messing with everything!

Interesting...cruise control seems fine at the moment. Could you elaborate on how you solved this? Did you end up replacing the whole wiring harness or just fixing a connector?

Honestly, I wouldn't even know where to start with a wiring harness. You are better off than me if you are thinking of doing that, it sounds scary. In my case, I took it to a workshop. They said a short in the system messed everything up. Much better to let the professionals handle it. Sometimes, like a doctor, they know exactly what to look for, even when we are just guessing!

Thanks for the insight! Based on what you said, and after a bit more checking, I think it's beyond my capabilities as well. I'll take it to a shop and let them sort it out. I estimated costs of about 95€ which seems reasonable for them to sort the cable or plug connection.
