Thanks! The cruise control light does illuminate on the dashboard, but the system doesn't engage. Could you give me more details on where the loose connection was near the steering wheel controls? Any specific areas I should check?

Okay, so the light comes on... That’s something, at least. Honestly, I couldn't pinpoint the exact location myself. It was driving me nuts. I wiggled a few wires around the steering wheel column and it didn't work, so I just took it to a workshop. They found a defective cable or plug connection of the component. Cost me about 95€ to fix. Probably best to get it checked out professionally.

I appreciate the insights and will have it inspected by a technician. Thanks for sharing your experience and the info on the potential repair cost.

Hey! I had something similar happen in my 408. Does the dashboard light up when you try to engage the cruise control? Also, have you checked the throttle position sensor? Sometimes a faulty reading there can disable the cruise control. Mine turned out to be a loose connection somewhere around the steering wheel controls.
