Peugeot 408 Engine Overcooling

Hey, I'm having a weird issue with my 2015 Peugeot 408 diesel. The engine seems to be taking forever to warm up, and the temperature gauge sometimes shows crazy readings. Plus, the check engine light is on! I've noticed that the cooling grille seems like it's not opening and closing properly. Could it be stuck or something? I'm a bit worried it might be a bigger cooling system problem.

I've got a 408 as well, and I had something similar happen last year. The temperature thing is super annoying! Have you checked the fuses? I remember reading somewhere that there's a fuse related to the cooling grille. Could be a simple fix. Which engine do you have?

Thanks for the tip! I haven't checked the fuses yet, that's a good shout. Is it specifically labeled for the cooling grille or something? And do you remember if your check engine light was also on?

It wasn't labeled specifically 'cooling grille' from what I recall, more like 'engine cooling' or something like that. Worth a look in the manual. And yeah, the check engine light was definitely on for me too. If the fuse isn't the issue, I'd take it to a workshop; it can be quite difficult to diagnose yourself.

Okay, brilliant. I'll check the fuses first thing tomorrow. If that doesn't do the trick, I'll book it in with a mechanic. Thanks so much for the help! Turns out it was just a blown fuse. 52€ later and all is back to normal. Really appreciate the advice!
