Peugeot 5008 Active Air Flap Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Peugeot 5008 owner is experiencing an active air flap fault, causing the check engine light to activate and the engine to run hotter than usual. The issue is suspected to be due to a defective electromechanism, specifically the flap motor, which is part of the vehicle's thermal management system. The suggested solution is to visit a workshop for repair, as similar issues have been resolved by addressing the flap motor defect.

The air intake? I hadn't focused on that specifically. How did that manifest in your case?

Indeed, the air intake. It's all part of the thermal management system. If the flap isn't regulating properly, it throws everything off. I would advise you to visit a workshop, it seems the electromechanism defective. The repair bill might be around 590€.

Thanks for confirming. I suspected as much. I'll get it booked into the workshop and hopefully, that'll sort it. Turns out it was the flap motor indeed.

Active air flap fault? Yes, I had something similar with my 5008. Overheating and the check engine light – sounds familiar. Was the air intake particularly affected?
