Peugeot 5008 Active Hood Fault

Thanks for the quick reply. I haven't checked the wiring harness yet. Could a faulty impact sensor also cause the spring actuators to trigger? Or is it definite that if they have triggered, the acceleration sensor is faulty?

While a faulty impact sensor could contribute to the 'Active hood fault' message, the triggered actuators strongly suggest the acceleration sensor as the primary culprit. The system likely interprets the acceleration reading as a collision event. However, confirming with a proper diagnostic scan using Peugeot-specific software is advisable before sensor replacement to eliminate other potential causes. A workshop visit might be warranted.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions and suggesting the next steps. I appreciate the help. I went to the workshop; they confirmed that the acceleration sensor was defective. Repair cost 315€. All is working well again!

The symptoms strongly suggest a problem within the active hood system's crash detection mechanism. Given that the actuators have triggered, it's unlikely to be a simple wiring issue. Have you checked the wiring harness and connectors leading to the acceleration sensors? Sometimes corrosion or damage there can cause spurious readings.
