I haven't noticed any white smoke, and the oil looks clean. But how did you finally pinpoint the crack on your Volvo? Was it obvious once you knew where to look?

Not really obvious at first. I pressure tested the system. The pressure dropped, and I saw a small puddle forming underneath. That’s how I knew. Honestly, with those symptoms, I'd get a pressure test done at a workshop. Could save you a lot of guesswork.

Okay, pressure test it is. Sounds like the most logical next step. Thanks for sharing your Volvo experience; it's given me a solid direction. It was a leak, after pressure testing at the workshop they found a loose connection. Cost me 52€, not too bad. Cheers!

Low coolant is never fun. I had a similar issue with my old Volvo V70. Kept topping it up, but it would vanish after a while. Turned out to be a hairline crack in the radiator itself, only visible when the system was under pressure. Are you seeing any white smoke from the exhaust, or any signs of coolant mixing with the oil?
