Peugeot 5008 engine stalling and power loss
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Peugeot 5008 with a gasoline engine is experiencing stalling at idle, reduced power, and a check engine light. The suspected cause is a defective high-pressure fuel pump, possibly related to the fuel volume regulator. The suggested solution is to replace the high-pressure fuel pump, which aligns with similar issues experienced by others.

Yes, there's a hesitation upon acceleration, suggesting a misfire. Could you give me more details on how your issue was resolved?

Yep, sounds like the same thing! Honestly, I didn't mess with it myself. I took it straight to the shop. They said it was something with the fuel injection system, something about the high pressure. Cost a pretty penny but runs like new now!

Based on your input and further checks, it's a defective high-pressure fuel pump and needs replacing. Repair cost is about 1510€. Thanks for confirming my suspicions.

Hey! I have a 5008 too, and that sounds familiar. I had the check engine light, and the car felt like it was gonna die on me at stop lights. Did it also kinda feel like it was misfiring? Or like, hesitating to accelerate?
