Peugeot 5008 knock sensor issue
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Peugeot 5008 is experiencing issues with the check engine light, increased fuel consumption, and uneven idling, potentially linked to a faulty knock sensor. The problem might stem from a defective connection, such as a cable or plug issue. Thanks for the quick reply! I did take a peek, but honestly, I'm not 100% sure what I'm looking for. Is there anything specific I should be checking for besides obvious breaks or corrosion? Anything that might point to a definitive connection problem?

While a visual inspection is a prudent initial step, subtle anomalies may elude the untrained eye. In my professional opinion, it would be advisable to entrust your vehicle to a certified automotive technician for a comprehensive diagnostic assessment. Defective wiring and connection plugs can often trigger such errors, and a workshop can perform advanced diagnostic procedures. Replacing the defective component (knock sensor) cost me around 95€.

Okay, thanks a lot for the advice. I suspected as much. I'll take it to the shop and have them run a proper diagnostic. Hopefully, it's just a connection issue like we suspected. I appreciate the help!

Greetings. I have a 5008 as well and recall encountering similar symptoms. The illumination of the check engine light, coupled with diminished fuel efficiency and erratic idling, does indeed suggest a potential issue with the knock sensor. Have you by any chance inspected the wiring harness and connector leading to the knock sensor for any signs of physical damage or corrosion?
