Interesting. No, I haven't checked the battery specifically. I assumed it was fine since the car starts without issue. But you're saying a weak battery could affect just the rear window heating? How?

Yeah, it's weird, I know! It's like when your phone battery is low, some features start acting up or shutting down to conserve power. Modern cars are super sensitive to voltage drops. In my Volvo's case, the battery was on its last legs, causing the defroster and other systems to act wonky. I would suggest you go to the workshop to have the battery tested before replacing any parts.

Okay, that makes sense. Thanks for the insight! I'll get the battery checked out. It turns out you were spot on! The battery was heavily discharged and needed replacing. Cost me 290€ to fix. Appreciate the help!

Hey, that sounds frustrating! I had a similar problem with my old 2012 Volvo V60. The rear defroster just wouldn't kick in, and I noticed other electrical issues. It was like the car's electrical system was running on fumes. Have you checked your battery? A weak battery can cause all sorts of weird issues in modern cars.
