Peugeot 5008 transmission issues

Hi, I have a 2020 Peugeot 5008 diesel with 43566 km. The transmission seems to be acting up. Symptoms include shifting not possible on the paddle shifters, gearbox slips/shifts uncleanly and grinding noises when shifting gears. Also, the paddle shifters are slow, gearbox is in emergency mode and there is an error stored in the error memory. Any ideas?

Hello there. I also own a Peugeot 5008, and your description sounds awfully familiar. It could be a defective transmission control unit. Does your diagnostic tool point to anything specific? Was it a sudden occurrence, or did you notice the issues gradually worsen over time?

Thanks for your reply. I don't have the equipment to perform a transmission diagnosis. I suspect the control unit is defective. Do you think a car computer reset could resolve this? Or should I consider an automotive ECU replacement?

Based on my experience, a reset is unlikely to solve it. It's probably the control unit itself. I ended up going to the workshop, the affected control unit was indeed defective and the repair cost me around 1000€. I'd suggest you take it to a professional.
