Peugeot 508 Auxiliary Heater Malfunction
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Peugeot 508 diesel with 120,686 km has a malfunctioning auxiliary heater, preventing the activation of the parking heater and storing an error. The issue is likely due to a defective glow plug, which can prevent proper ignition of the heater. It is recommended to have the glow plugs and heating system checked by a workshop to resolve the problem.

Thank you for the suggestion. Could you elaborate on why the glow plugs are likely the issue?

Well, in my case, a defective glow plug meant the heater couldn't ignite properly, hence the error. I'd suggest getting it checked by a workshop; it might save you a lot of headache. It’s worth checking the heating system and the heater core as well.

Thank you for the advice. A diagnostic check at the workshop confirmed a defective glow plug. Repair cost 440€.

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my old BMW 3 Series. Parking heater problems can be a pain. Have you checked the glow plugs? They're often the culprit.
