Peugeot 508 Charge Air Temperature Sensor Error

I've got a 2018 Peugeot 508, gasoline engine, with 195k kilometers and this check engine light keeps popping up. I'm getting a charge air temperature sensor error, reduced power, whistles, and hisses when I accelerate! I checked the error memory, and the sensor's flagged. I wiggled the cables, but no dice. Anyone seen this before?

I had a similar issue with my 508. Same symptoms, reduced power and a noticeable hissing sound. It sounds like it's related to the airflow or air intake system. Was there any temperature fluctuation recently? Could also point to the sensor going haywire.

Temperature fluctuation, huh? Nothing obvious comes to mind, but now that you mention it, it might have been a bit more sluggish on cold mornings recently. Did yours throw the same error code for the charge air temperature sensor? What did it end up being?

Yes, same error code precisely. I would recommend taking it to the workshop. A defective cable or plug connection seems possible, and they are equipped to diagnose it properly.

Thanks a bunch for the insight! I took it to the shop, and you were spot on. Turns out it was a faulty connector on the charge air temperature sensor. New connector, code cleared, and she's running like a champ again. Total cost 95€. Really appreciate the help!
