Peugeot 508 Fresh Air Blower Failure

My 2012 Peugeot 508 with a gasoline engine has a completely dead fresh air blower. It won't spin at any speed. Fuses are fine. The car throws an error, but my cheap OBD reader can't pull it up. I suspect the blower motor itself is kaput, especially since I've heard these can be problematic. Car's done 72426 km. Any ideas before I start tearing things apart?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my old Volvo V70. The cabin fan just quit. Check the fan speed controller, the blower motor resistor. That was the culprit in my case. Does the Peugeot have one of those?

Interesting, I hadn't thought of the fan speed controller. Where is that usually located on the 508? Is it difficult to get to? Is there any way to test it before replacing it?

On the Volvo it was near the blower motor, under the dash. Access was a pain. I didn't test it, just went to the shop. Given you have an error code stored, I'd take it to a workshop to get a proper diagnosis.

Okay, thanks for the advice. I took it to the shop, and you were right, the blower motor was defective. They replaced it, and the final bill was 365€. Everything's working fine now. Appreciate the help!
