Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't checked the belt yet. How did you confirm it was the alternator on your Insignia? Did you do any other tests?

No problem! I didn't do any in-depth tests myself. The mechanic checked the charging voltage with a multimeter. If the voltage is low when the engine is running, it pretty much points to the alternator. With those symptoms, plus the error code, I'd bet it's your generator/alternator that needs replacing. Best to get it checked by a professional though.

Okay, thanks for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed the generator was defective. They replaced it, and now everything is working fine. The repair cost me 960€. Appreciate the help!

Sounds frustrating! I had a similar issue with my old Opel Insignia. Same symptoms: power loss, lights acting up, and weird starting problems. Turned out to be a dodgy alternator. Have you checked the serpentine belt? A slipping belt can cause the alternator to not charge properly.
