Peugeot 508 Misfire

My 2021 Peugeot 508 gasoline engine is running rough, the check engine light is on, and I feel jerking when accelerating with reduced power. It has 142234 km. The OBD II scanner shows combustion misfires. Could this be a defective ignition coil?

I had a similar issue with my Opel Insignia. Rough idle, check engine light, and jerking. For me, it was a defective fuel injector. Like a clogged artery restricting blood flow. Did the error code specify which cylinder is misfiring? That could help.

The error code didn't specify a cylinder. Could the fuel pump cause the same symptoms, or is there a way to diagnose the injector as the source of the misfires?

There are DIY methods for testing fuel injectors, like using a multimeter to check resistance, but it's best to be cautious. A workshop can do more comprehensive tests, like a fuel pressure test and injector flow test. Like using an echocardiogram instead of a stethoscope.

I took my Peugeot 508 to a workshop. It was a defective injection valve, which was replaced for a total of 515€.
