Peugeot 508 Tailgate Hall Sensor Error

I've got a 2023 Peugeot 508, gasoline engine, and the tailgate is acting up! I'm getting an error in the memory about the tailgate hall sensor, and the darn thing won't open all the way. I've checked for obvious wire damage but couldn't find anything. Anyone else run into this?

I had a similar issue with my 508. By similar I mean the tailgate wouldn't fully open and there was a sensor error stored. Was the error specifically referencing the hall sensor, or just a general tailgate malfunction?

Yeah, the error code points directly to the hall sensor in the tailgate. Did you manage to fix yours, and if so, what did you do? I'm trying to avoid taking it to the workshop if possible, but this sensor issue has got me pulling my hair out!

In my case, the error also specified the hall sensor. Given the stored error and the incomplete opening, a defective cable or plug connection is plausible. I would advise you to have a professional workshop take a look at it to avoid further damages.

Thanks for the insight! Looks like I'll bite the bullet and take it in. The workshop confirmed it was indeed a faulty connection in the tailgate wiring, and it cost 95€ to repair. At least it's sorted now!
