Interesting. The brake lights seem to be working fine. Where exactly is the brake light switch located? Could it still be the problem even if the lights are working?

On my Volvo, it was located near the brake pedal. It's possible the switch is faulty even if the lights are working; it might have two separate circuits. But without knowing more, I would suggest to check cable or plug connection of the component, or get it checked in a workshop. With my Volvo it cost me 80€.

Thanks for the tip. Turns out it was a defective cable connection and a faulty plug connection, as suggested. The repair cost 95€. At least it's sorted now.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my old Volvo V70. Cruise control packed in and there was an error code. Did you check the brake light switch? Sometimes a faulty switch can disable the cruise control as a safety measure. Do your brake lights work properly?
